To replace the battery on the MLB, shut down the system, remove power, remove the system cover, refer to the figure, and perform the following procedure:

1. Put on your ESD wriststrap.
2. Remove the MLB, and set it on an antistatic surface.
3. Remove the battery by gently pressing it down and toward the left as you slide it sideways out of the holder.
   CAUTION: Take care not to bend the battery hold-down spring. A bent spring could result in interrmittent system problems due to poor contact with the battery.
4. Insert the new battery, positive (+) side up, into the holder.
5. Replace the MLB.
6. Properly dispose of the old battery.

WARNING: If the battery is incorrectly replaced, there is a danger of explosion. Replace the battery only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Discard used batteries according to manufacturer's instructions. Be certain to follow any state or local statutes for proper battery disposal.
